Paris Perfect

If you were to tell me you haven’t once dreamed of being a Parisian, not even once, I wouldn’t believe you. More than just a je-ne-sais-quoi, Paris is a city that intrinsically commands awe and dominates the mind. If, you too, are in love with the City of Lights, surely you’ve pictured yourself lining up at the corner bakery to get a fresh baguette and stopping at your local caviste for a bottle of red.

Well, you can do just that at this gorgeous apartment. With the added bonus of the Eiffel freakin’ Tower as a backdrop!

I had the chance to stay in the Bandol apartment, which is located in the chic 7th arrondissement of Paris. The delightful and cosy one-bedroom is located on one of Paris’ most desirable streets and on the 1st floor of a lavish Haussmanien building. Exactly the kind of apartment Paris lovers would want to sojourn in!

In terms of facilities, the apartment comprises a fully functional kitchen, a bathroom with ample storage space as well as a walk-in shower and a washing machine, a spacious living area with a sofa-bed and a dining area for four people, and, finally, a closed-off bedroom with a queen-sized bed and two closets. Rental price includes unlimited wireless Internet (that is both fast and reliable, a rarity in Paris) as well as local calls and cable television.

Oh, and bedside power sockets! The devil truly is in the details and, no doubt, this apartment was thoroughly designed. Additionally, I particularly appreciated the well-appointed bookcase (filled with Paris travel books and iconic French novels) and the absolutely gorgeous afternoon light.

All of these photos were taken within a 10-minute walk radius from the apartment. While the 7th arrondissement is often overlooked because of its bourgeois or bland reputation, however in reality, it was anything but.

Here are a few of my favourite places to eat, drink, and play in and around the 7th arrondissement:

  • L’Éclair (32, rue Cler): A trendy but welcoming cocktail bar where young Parisians go on dates.
  • Les Invalides / Musée de l’Armée (129 rue de Grenelle): Collections of weapons and uniforms tracing French military conflicts, plus Napoleon’s gilded tomb.
  • Au petit Sud-Ouest (46 avenue de la Bourdonnais): Has been around forever and is specialised in south-western French cuisine. Arguably serves the best duck in Paris.
  • Maison de la chantilly (47, rue Cler): Where everything is covered in expertly prepared French whipped cream.
  • Terres de café (67, avenue de la Bourdonnais
): Where locals go to buy and drink French-style roasted coffee beans from around the world.
  • Nonna Anna (24, rue Surcouf): A highly traditional Italian trattoria with a short, but irreproachable menu.
  • Marlon (159 rue de Grenelle): Fashionable and bright eatery dedicated to Californian dishes. One of the few restaurants in Paris to serve North American-styled brunches.
  • La Fromagerie (31, rue Cler): The name says it all. Family-owned cheese shop whose clerks will be happy to recommend cheeses for your inevitable picnic on Champs-de-Mars.
  • Le repaire de Bacchus (29, rue Cler): When you find yourself in Paris, you make your way to the closest wine shop. Just state your preferences and the owner will find a reasonably-priced wine to your liking.

***

All in all, I had a faultless stay with Paris Perfect. From the smooth and personalised check-in process (they greeted me at the apartment and took ample time to explain everything), to the proximity to public transportation and some of Paris’ most celebrated attractions, it goes without saying that I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for high-quality, well-priced, practical accommodation in the City of Lights.

I was a guest of Paris Perfect. As always, all opinions are my own.
